Brief

Even though PSB Academy had a wealth of content spanning across courses, schools and campus life to student resources that would be useful to their users, as per website data and analytics there wasn’t sufficient traffic on the site with high exit rates. While all the essential information was on the website, students would prefer finding desired information through their college notice board or student help desks.

The team was to create a new well structured information architecture to establish a seamless navigation and experience through the site. We were to determine issues related to their current site experience and recommend solutions to resolve them.

The solution needed to improve the overall user experience of the site and ultimately, generate leads by enquiring with PSB Academy.

Approach

The team conducted a thorough audit to analyze:

Site navigation

Looked through whether the categorization and structure of the information were clear? How easy was it for different user groups to find information

Aesthetics

Did the website have a consistent and clearly recognizable look and feel? Did the imagery and iconography resonate with the brand?

Usability

How would people move from point to point, Were there enough or too many call to actions, How easy was it to find information? Were the current features useful in terms of gathering information with ease?

Content

Were the pages simple to scan on all screens? Was the content easy to digest?

When I need information I check the Notice Board

I only use the website at the beginning of the semester to download my timetable

I use google to find information on universities

I have never explored the site

Like most students I did my admission through student counsellors

When I first used the website it was hard for me to find the information I needed, so I asked my friend instead.
